I'm squarely with WIM on this. By far the most disheartening issue with the game yesterday were the failings all over the defensive side of the ball. Our DBs lined up too deep on 3rd down throws, missed tackles, did not look back on the big TD (BTW I think the claims of offensive PI are overstated on that play, it was more poor situational awareness). And they were our best unit on D! Our interior linemen got consistently blown off the ball. We were incapable of stopping them for long stretches of the game, and it would've been even worse if not for that VERY fortunate INT.
Our offense had some issues, but for the most part we could run the ball effectively, and Hogan made some good downfield throws. Our pass protection was not superb, but again a lot of our problems on offense stemmed from the fact that we were not running the offense we're comfortable running (because the defense let us down), limiting our offensive unpredictability.
