Rose Bowl would definitely pick the Pac-12 team. They will pick the Pac-12/Big Ten matchup forever, unless forced to otherwise. They picked Illinois, of all teams, to make sure the traditional matchup held. They're going to pass over the Pac-12 team? Thinking logically, this would mean they either pass up: the hometown team (UCLA), the team that hasn't been to Pasadena since 1997 (ASU), or the team that just sold 45k tickets easy last year (little old us).

I don't believe anyone is saying that they'll pass up a PAC-12 team, rather we're saying that they may pass up US for UCLA, though if we're 10-2 with a victory of them and they're 10-3 with losses to us and Oregon x2 I don't think it's super likely.
