I'm not against your having higher standards than the established NCAA minimum. That's commendable. I am irked by the attendant self-righteousness that some adopt because of those standards. The choice of a football program is far more complicated than, "Did I get an offer to go to Stanford?" After all, not everyone accepts your invitationsfor a whole host of reasons that have noting to do with academics. I applied to, and was accepted by the FSI. For familial considerations, I chose a less "prestigious" path. It happens in the collegiate football recruiting process too.
