I have been withholding commentary regarding admissions for a long time because I do not want to betray the confidence of a close friend who is one of the assistant deans of admission. The following statement is not theory and is general enough not to reveal anything: EVERY applicant must pass the academic bar before any other accomplishments or abilities are weighed into the ultimate decision. Coaches have absolutely no sway BEFORE the academic assessment has concluded that the applicant is admissible.

I have heard the same thing from a friend or two on the coaching staff. I am proud of the requirements our athletes must meet.
