I think Stanford has to hope for both a Baylor and Ohio State Loss, then either a victory for the SEC East over either Alabama or Auburn (from the SEC west). This would either be Georgia, South Carolina, or Missouri (if Missouri were to lose again). If Missouri were to not lose again (meaning they finish the season beating Johnny Manziel/Texas A&M and Alabama in the SECCG) they would most certainly go to the national title game over us against Florida State. Key takeaway is any 1 loss SEC champion will go ahead of us for sure. I do think we would go ahead of Alabama if for example they lost to Auburn and did not go to the SECCG, but the SEC champion came from the East and had two losses as then everyone in the SEC would have two losses except for Alabama, however they would not have won their conference.Â
Key Games
Baylor to lose to OSU, Texas Tech, TCU, or Texas (seems certainly possible)
OSU to lose to Illinois, Indiana, @Michigan, or ?Michigan State in Big 10 title game
Missouri loses to Texas A&M
Winner of SEC East (Missouri/South Carolina/Georgia) beats winner of Alabama/Auburn Game
If all of those things happen, and we somehow manage to get out of the Coliseum with a victory, which I am incredibly nervous about, it could definitely happen. Crazier things have happened.
