Style points count when it's against your toughest recruiting rival. That's my frustration. That and it seemed like once again we were playing against the ND's home conference officials.
PrinceLightfoot makes a good point. Mason sent the Blitz very few times and when he did, it was effective.Â
On the other side of the ball, Shaw's play conservatism and odd risk taking is mystifying. The end of the 1st half really irked me. The bad clock management at the end cost us another score. That and throwing on 3rd and short. Shaw picks odd times to take risks and get creative. He also seems to go for the obvious creative play. I often think "We should do X" and then we call that play. If we do something I think we should do, then it's probably a really bad idea.
I wonder if Sanford will be a good play caller. He did spend 4 years holding a clipboard standing next to Chris Petersen.
