I am fairly confident Oregon is going to decline

Why? I ask this sincerely, since I was trying to make the case myself a while ago and couldn't actually convince myself. The fact that they've been pretty consistently good for the past two decades, having only two losing seasons in the past 20, the most recent 10 years ago. It's definitely possible that they won't be churning out 12-win seasons every year like they have for the past few, but even if they decline to "only" being a 9-3 team on average they'll still be plenty dangerous. Besides, Kelly went 10-3 in his first year, a record that Helfrich is likely to best. Is he just riding Kelly's coattails? I dunno, but people were probably making the case that Kelly was just riding Bellotti's in 2009.

I think that it's far too early to have any confidence in Oregon's decline. It's entirely possible that this will turn out to be a brief period of success after decades of mediocrity that they will sink back into, but I sort of doubt it.
