I remember seeing a stat my freshman year that only 68% of the SCU freshmen graduated, but 94% of the sophomores did.  The weeding out was pretty brutal.  Average gpa there was a 2.68 my frosh year.  Pretty painful for the formerly straight A kids.

Heard the same about UCLA.  The informal tour we had around the UCLA campus was from a family friend, graduated from my son's high school about three years earlier.  He said UCLA wasn't as difficult as high school.  He was English, not EE/CS, but still...
