John Elway had a long wind up in his throw initially and later acquired a much quicker release. I don't see why any quarterback couldn't learn to do this with practice and guidance. I don't see why Prichard, Shaw, and others couldn't help in this regard either. I also think that Hogan has spent a lot time in the off season developing his skills. This is especially evident in his long throws.
I really have to scratch my head with some of the comments in this thread. I believe that the coaching staff is competent and will do what ever is necessary for player development. And, I believe that that most of the players work all year long to improve their skills. If this wasn't the case, Stanford would not be in the Rose Bowl.
