We had a few read option plays.  They worked ok.  Hogan had 8 carries for 51 yards.  Hogan throwing on the run is something that worked well last year, but he hasn't been able to do as well this year.

The evolution the coaches have taken w/r/t Hogan's legs has been interesting. He runs much less frequently, and that reduction has mostly come from worse teams. He rarely scrambles, passing or throwing. We seem to have a pitch count on him. And in general a pitch count is a pretty good idea, but sometimes you want to push your guy and have him go for the complete game. I think this game is one of a few examples this year where Stanford could've profited from getting Hogan 10-15 carries.
