My personal favorite nerdy boardgame is the game Junta, in which the various players each play as various high ranking members of a fictitious banana republic, trying to backstab, murder, and coup their way to winning, which is by appropriating the most foreign aid money. I imagine Garvin would be a natural.

Garvin, you need to tell everybody your stories about being in Nicaragua.  The private board would be the perfect place if you're worried about Daniel Ortega reading it.
