If you have surround sound, you can just unplug the center speaker (or turn it off electronically if your receiver supports it). The announcer commentary usually only comes through the center, and game noise comes through all the other ones.

Learn so much about sports tech on this board. I know CBS and ESPN occasionally have channels dedicated to showing all 22 on the field. A large screen TV featuring all 22 video and surround sound may be my next project. I just hate when commentators need to talk about and show a trivial replay so that viewers miss the breaking of the huddle, any pre-snap motion AND the snap. It happens more and more it seems. Often it is hard to follow the real flow of the game, especially on bigger broadcasts with multiple cameras and commentators.
