BTW, I REALLY enjoyed 49er Navorro Bowman's imitation of Shane Skov.  Panthers' ball on the 1-yard line and Bowman came flying over the line of scrimmage, seemingly right over Cam Newton's head.  Unbelievable leap, but sadly for Navorro, he just isn't as gifted as Shane at timing such an attempt.  Oh well, no bother.  Down over on the 1/2-yard line.  I LOVE that.

And yet, the penalty was only "half the distance", so the niners didn't lose much.  And the niners still stuffed them on the goal line, so even though it didn't "work", mission accomplished for the forty-niners.  Moreover, I wonder if that sort of timing thing gets in the head of the offensive team and messes with their execution.  I'm almost surprised that there wasn't a false start on the very next play.  FWIW, if a team is within the one yard line, the defense should ALWAYS try to time the snap count; the reward vastly outweighs the risk.
