Nifae's challenge is well known.  The grades are fine.  It's a Luke K hand card-for-card.  Luke's passion for Stanford, hard work to get in, same under-represented ethnic group, even the same position and talent for blocking kicks. 

You cannot predict admissions here .  What is key is do his recommendations and other clues suggest that he can thrive at Stanford while playing football?  Do his tests understate his real aptitude?

Admissions has seen vividly the benefits of a winning football team; the place is more alive than it's ever been.  It's generating even more interest from non-players, which positions Stanford to present itself as the nations' most exclusive school.  Applications doubled from 1970 to 2000 and have doubled again since.  We are heading toward 5% yields.  That's just crazy.  Yields like that affect the rating services, among other benefits. 

That doesn't dictate the decision here but it throws weight.  The school benefits from land Nifae rather than a career backup.  But this also means that the staff needs to believe that this kid can win games for us.

And while some people on these boards think that admissions totally directs these shows, Harbaugh proved that they do not.  If the coach is ready to go 15 round he can win the decision.  That may be the question here: How important is Lealao to this team?
