I'm not obsessing over this, but the thing I could see NFL scouts looking at are the total number of fumbles, not just the lost ones. I know that the way Gaffney runs and where they had him run might tend to put him at hazard, but lets be honest, he gave us a few heart-stopping moments when the ball got loose but was recovered. Was that just luck? Is the concern just losing the ball, not what happened to it subsequently.Â
Or, maybe it's not significant. In that case I'll switch my concern to whether he'd have a longer and less risky career if he played pro baseball.
