I don't share your optimism. I think that on the bubble the committee will choose consistency over inconsistency. I think Stanford needs to beat both Utah & Colorado AND win at least one game in the P12 tourney.
At the program level (vs. this season), even if they do make the tourney this season it will likely be at least two more before they get a sniff at returning, probably three. The cupboard is awfully bare. With the bench this short, it's pretty clear they only have about 3 non-seniors on his roster that merit PT outside of garbage time. The incoming frosh will make an impact in 2015-16 at the earliest, most likely the year after. Between the current seniors and that recruiting class, there's just not very much there there.
