Don Kennedy was a fan of Lehrer\'s too (once told me about buying an album of his from Tom Lehrer\'s own hands). Back when the Stanford Band made itself Band Non Grata in Oregon with its routine in honor of the spotted owl, Pres. Kennedy was asked for his perspective on the LSJUMB. He paraphrased one of the phony review quotes on Lehrer\'s second album and said, "Their muse is not fettered by such inhibitions as taste."
