In compariing admissions to halls of fame, the entire size of the squad is beside the point; third-string tight ends aren't going to make the hall of game. Comparing the number of starters (22 for football, 10 for basketball, because it has both men's and women's squads) offers a better perspective. By that measure, football still comes out ahead.

Given that there are more than 3x as many schools that play basketball as play football, shouldn't we include that as a factor as well?
