Caveat, I'm not a lawyer. When McDonald's sells something via drive thru, they should anticipate that the product will be used in the care while it's in motion and consider the likely range of outcomes associated. Chevy could reasonably assume that people will drink in their vehicles, but the decision to put scalding liquid in the car is on the car passenger and agent who brought the liquid.
