I think he meant Yreka.  The 5 goes right through it.

Or maybe he meant the 101...which goes right through Eureka.

At any rate, they are about 4.5 hours apart, given that Eureka and 101 are on the coast and the 5 is in the middle of the state.  Redding is probably the closest town on the 5 and it is 3 hours from Eureka
