[quote author=ferrari link=topic=10285.msg93484#msg93484 date=1406933717] Liberal views haven't changed much.

Ferrari, can you consider knocking it off with your particular style of political commentary on this sports board? I don't mind that your viewpoints are conservative. I do mind that your political comments are inane.
First, this is a sports board, and while we we all go off on tangents, political tangents are the most tiresome of tangents. Second, your comments aren't intended to provoke discussion--they're just intended to be digs against people who disagree with you. This was illustrated pretty clearly during the discussion of the UCSB Isla Vista shooter when you posted a comment of, "Why don't we ban cars and knives since they were used to kill people?" Everybody ignored that comment because it was inane. So you REPEATED it. And when I finally explained to you that cars/knives are actually different from guns, you immediately said, "I'm out. There's no point in discussing this further." It was the internet equivalent of a kid shouting something on a street corner that he heard his dad said, and then running away when somebody explains to him, "That argument doesn't make sense, and why are you shouting it on a street corner anyway?"
You even took a dig at one of the moderators saying that a particular "liberal" moderator wouldn't appreciate your comment . Again, it's not the conservative viewpoint that is annoying, it's the inanity of the comments.

I apologize, Grief, if I have offended you (which I obviosly have.) I realized, before this post of yours, that my comment was inappropriate and deleated it, apparently not quickly enough to suit. Thank you for going back in time and resurrecting it. I will try to limit my inane comments in the future.

It's this kind of mature response that makes me enjoy this board so much more than the Bootboard. Civility can be severely lacking there, but I find that here everyone is is more likely to forgive and move on whenever someone says something mildly abrasive.
