I'm with ferrari on this. My Stanford consciousness was shaped in an up-and-down era. For the last several years I have discovered that I am incapable of getting rid of my doubts no matter what our team does to convince me. I feel almost as if I was psychologically maimed in my youth and the repressed memories keep distorting my perceptions of reality. To defend myself from those ghosts, I forbid myself from becoming too optimistic and consistently underestimate how well we will play.Â
