I'm surprised at how little attention has been paid here to the fact that one player has almost single-handedly been responsible for some of the costliest offensive breakdowns so far.

That's a fair point. Interestingly, however, it looks to me that Wright has the trust of the coaches. I haven't counted it out, but I'd suspect he's the primary 3rd down back -- which presumably reflects his ability to pass protect and receive.
