Last year Stanford beat Notre Dame 27-20 by holding off a fourth quarter comeback with two picks of ND QB Rees in the Irish final drives.  Hogan did not have a great game going 12/18 for 158 yards, 1 TD and 2 interceptions.

This year's Stanford D is as tough as last year, special teams are even and the O has been sloppy and sporadic.  Notre Dame seems improved at QB, may have an edge on offense over their previous version but is unproven on defense. 

The other big difference is location - playing in South Bend should provide a big edge for the Irish.  I think this one will be close.

NDI, I can see how an Irish fan can make a case for Golson over Hogan but let's see how events play out on Saturday.  We're just fine with our head coach, thank you.  Glad you like yours but nothing about Kelly makes me wish he was on our side of the field.  I'm actually a little surprised you like him so much.  His bluster, stumbles while attempting damage control and public beat downs of players on the sidelines have us frequently shaking our heads.
