Yes, Kelly has found himself in some tough spots.
Take that day when the wind was blowing up to 40 miles per hour. Talk about tough; we have an important practice and we need to photograph it. But the wind could knock over that photographer's crain and cause him serious injury.
What to do, what to do? "Damn it, we are Notre Dame and Notre Dame wins football games. And people sacrifice for that. A photographer should, too." Now that's a devoted coach.
And so it went. To which irish fans say, it was just one of those things. They are right: it was one of those things. One of those things that could have been avoided and Kelly chose not to.
Are you getting the message? Among other things, few if any of us care if you think you have a neat team. ND fans always think that. And they thought Tommy Rees was a great kid who would never lay a hand on a girl who wasn't asking for it. Yep. He's a Notre Dame player. Our players may be necrophiles, as one of their famous linebackers was, but by God they aren't rapists.
