It should perhaps be noted that 71Bear is not rubbing it over the approximately 1.2 zillion CardBoard posts this summer that said the 59ers would be 0-5 and in Death Watch Mode on Sorry Yikes by this point of the season.

I'll admit I'm one of them. I really thought it would take several years to dig out of the hole Barbour got them in. I still think that it will hurt them long term. The field hockey situation is one of many consequences of spending money that wasn't there for football.

Still, the football improvement is obvious, and irrespective of how they do this year, they will be a force to be reckoned with next year.
