I'm still optimistic, perhaps foolishly so, that the Trees can beat the Beavs at home and kal on the road. After last night, both could easily be losses too. The other three games -- Utah at home, UCLA and Oregon on the road -- all look like an uphill battle at this point. The defense is strong enough to keep Stanford in each of the remaining games. Can the offense and special teams give the defense enough help, or at the very least avoid the stupid mistakes and turnovers, to win?
The most disappointing thing to me is that the offense seems to be getting worse rather than better. I know ASU was fired up, had an extra week to prepare and apparently had this game circled in red since last December, but that is a bad ASU defense that dominated Stanford's offense. That just can't happen.
