This isn't a new suggestion by any means, but I'd love it if Shaw showed up to his Tuesday press conference, pulled out a coin and flipped it, then told us who the lead running back would be against Oregon State. Choose one -- and by one, I mean either Sanders or Wright -- and give him 20-25 carries. No back this year has gotten more than 14 carries in a single game, and that's a problem. Also, Stanford has yet to have a back gain 100 yards in a single game. When do you think was the last time the Cardinal went seven consecutive games (it's actually eight, if you go back to the Rose Bowl) without someone hitting the century mark? I really thought Sanders would do it when he gained fifty yards on his first two carries against Washington State, but he only had a handful of carries after that promising start.
Please clear the field! The game is not over!
