I think the frustration stems from the view that there is some sort of miracle cure for what ails us. If only...
Shaw would put in Barry Sanders (or, more recently, McCaffrey), then our running game would be magically better
Shaw would replace Hogan with Chryst, then our passing game would magically be better
Shaw would call different plays, then our offense would be magically better
