I was at the UCLA match last night held in the intimate confines of Wooden Gym since Pauley is still being repaired following the recent flood (from a water main break). Interesting coaching contrast between Stanford and UCLA. During timeouts, the UCLA team immediately huddled around the coaches. The Stanford coaches congregated separately for about half of the 90 second TO. Then Coach Dunning would say a few words to the team and they were on the court well before the clock ran down to 0.
Stanford is a talented, resilient, mentally tough team. It is a treat to be able to cheer for them. I hope that fans will take the opportunity to come out for the final regular season home games this next weekend.Â
