Halftime
The game did not really turn around until we started hitting our three point shots. When Lili made the first two she took, that separated us. Then Bonnie made 2/3. We would be behind without all those three point shots, which we are shooting at 67%.
On the inside we have had a couple of scores off the roll part of the pick and roll--in both cases by a big taking a short jumper. That is encouraging.
We are tied for rebounds, which given our height advantage is a bit troubling. Once or twice I saw Bonnie boxing out perfectly--but clearly not everyone has the knack tonight.Â
We are shooting 59%, Hawaii 34%. Is it just that the Hawaii defense is so much worse than the NC defense that we went from 20% in last night's first half to 59% tonight? I think there is more to it than that, but exactly what I am not sure.
I am pleased at how Erica McCall is playing. 7 points on 3/4 and 8 rebounds. It must be a good match-up for her tonight.Â
Greenfield is still cold as ice as a shooter. 1/5 so far, 0/1 from three. A couple of those were almost unfair, rattling around in the cylinder and coming back out.
On two point shots by our bigs we are 7/11. That is a vast improvement over last night. Again, I hope a lot of that is what we are doing and not simply the weaker defense.Â
