I was shocked when it occurred to me how unhappy this season was making me as it unfolded and then we get a bowl invitation and it took me a little up short. In the past getting to pretty much any bowl game was brobdingnagian. Hell, The Play kept us from being bowl eligible. We had freakin' John Elway!!!!!
So a little perspective has been lost. That seems to be true. But I'm not reading anywhere (except in reader threads which many times are not even Stanford fans commenting) that people are arguing for Shaw's removal. I am still very proud of the Stanford fan culture, which in my experience reaches its pinnacle of balance and reason here at the CardBoard.
