Many of you will have noticed that Steve Durrett has not posted his statistical analyses and game photos this season. Those of you who sit near Steve in the stadium, as I do, probably noticed that he hasn't been in his seats.

I recently learned that Steve had a stroke on September 6. He is at an in-patient rehabilitation facility. His wife told me to feel free to pass this information along to those who might be interested, which I figure includes the folks on this board. His wife also said they have been following the football team's accomplishments.

Praying for a good recovery for Steve. Get well soon, my friend!

I've never met Steve, as I have not met most of the posters here or over on the Bootboard where I first started reading Steve's posts. That's a disease of living 3000+ miles from the mother-ship.

He has been one of my favorite posters, and the same is true for many others I suspect. I have learned quite a bit about logic and football statistics from him and simply had fun looking at the pictures he's posted. 

My best wishes for a recovery. Hope he knows that people who haven't even met him appreciated his posts and pictures.

What timing.  I was going to post last night, and again this morning, to ask if anyone knew what might have happened to Steve.  I went to his website last night for clues, and saw that he hadn't posted Stanford game photos for the last games of last season and any games this season, and that made me fear the very worst.

So I am somewhat relieved by this news.

Please tell him I miss his posts a lot.  Loved the photos--I used to study them frame by frame--and his RPRs, if I recall the acronym right, were very useful.

I met Steve briefly back in the Dark Ages, at that god awful Navy game and the Harris regime that prompted me to cancel my season tickets.  (The travel was a killer, of course, and figured in the decision.)  The brobdingnagian white Canon zoom lens told me it had to be Steve.  Quite a talent--again, please give him my best wishes.

I am recalling with fondness Steve's shot of Brook Lopez shooting the winning baseline turnaround shot in the tournament -- a far better shot than anything I saw from the pro's.
