Here is what the LA Times columnist wrote (and stop for a minute and think just how much fun it would have been to be sitting next to U$C's coaching box to overhear this):
"Throughout the game, yelling and profanities emanating from the USC's coaches box could be heard as McCaffrey stutter-stepped to mid-range gains, broke free for wide-open pass receptions and blazed toward the end zone."  Talk about music to the ears.  Or, in the words of Sua Cravens, "What doesn't he do?"  Unfrickin' unbelievable.

Or maybe Washington's defenses were way more talented than most people gave them credit for (though I remember Hulk raving about some of the players). Washington's defense has been pretty good without him, though maybe their new coach is also a great defensive mind.

i dunno...a near-Voldemort/Voldemort winner has a good day?  Wait till their Holiday bowl game against Michigan/Ohio State/Wisconsin, then we'll see.  If he shuts down their runners, he'll be back.

Sometimes good coaches look bad in the wrong circumstances. 59er fans were crowing when we hired Pete Alamar; with some misadventures in kickoffs the past two weeks aside, how do they look now? Some intelligent Texas fans felt Duane Akina was past it; how do they look now?  N.D. fans weren't sad to lose Randy Hart, and so on.

So perhaps Wilcox is a perfectly good coach who got stuck in the SC whirlpool.

Well, another way to look at it.  Wilcox is Cutty Sark's buddy, brought him with him from Washington.  Enabler at best, co-lush at worse.  Not Helton's type from my perspective.  I have a feeling the loud swearing, when Helton reads/hears about it, isn't going to sit well.  Wouldn't with Haden either.  Good coach or bad he needs to scamper wherever Cutty has gone.  Can you even imagine something like that from to Stanford coaches?

I thought Hart came to us from UW, but looking at it, he took a 1-year detour to Notre Dame.  Still, 20 years at Washington before that.
