What is rushing differential?

The avg. YPC gained less YPC given up.  It's basically an indicator of the stronger team in the trenches.  While Cal's OL paved the way for a solid 5.5 YPC, its soft as Charmin front seven gave up a whopping 6.5 YPC to Hawaii.

Those teams might get a bit closer for a few reasons. One of the big ones is defense, which is something you didn't see a lot of during the Cal-Hawaii game. The Rainbow Warriors had a tough time with the Bear Raid offense, and the Bears had a tough time with defense.

2-foot-long hotdog did look good.
