Nice article on Stanford players, Drew Storen and Jason Castro, returning for their degrees while playing in Major League Baseball - evidently a very uncommon practice.

In 2009, according to a Wall Street Journal survey, only 26 major-league ballplayers and managers had college degrees. (A\'s reliever Craig Breslow, who has a molecular biophysics and biochemistry degree from Yale, was tagged as the sport\'s smartest man.)

A dozen Cardinal products played in the majors last season, and nine have degrees. Storen and Castro are trying to add their names after posting breakthrough seasons in 2010.

If this is true than Stanford alums will make up 30-40% of the major league players/managers with degrees!

In the future,  Sandy Barbour is guaranteeing that Kal will have 0% of its players with college degrees.  Maybe she cancelled the program out of a sense of shame that their degree rate for Kal players was so abysmal.   Do ya\' think?   Nah.   Maybe they were graduating, but were SO bad at recruiting and developing talent that MLB really wasn\'t in the picture for any Kal baseball player. :)
