Now I'm a little more confused about Muir's baseball HC search. But congrats to Ryan and best of luck at Pacific!

I think it comes down to two guesses:
1) Muir valued previous HC experience (not paying too much attention to W-L record) as being more critical than managing a minor league team and/or playing at the big league level.
2) Maybe 9 recommended Esquer over Garko
Vs Pacific, I doubt it was a salary issue. Who knows about the timing factor, i.e. now vs a month ago. But we'll probably never know the real reasoning, and we just have to hope for the best.
Interesting that the AD at Pacific is......Ted Leland.
