Mine just arrived. I have to say that, unlike last year, this is pretty underwhelming. Now, I don't really expect anything since they don't need to do this at all, but if you're going to send something...
First, they sent a little box in a padded envelope, which meant the box got crushed. I was pretty sure when opening it that there was nothing fragile in there, but not a good start...
Then the contents are a Stanford flag, and a couple pieces of paper. One is the member guide, another a Buck Cardinal ad, and the final the list of contents. Okay, well, a flag is definitely something cool and I have a flagpole now so maybe I'll fly it!
...Except that it doesn't have grommets. Well I can figure out how to make a sleeve work, how hard can it be? ...Except that the sleeve is closed on one end. What is even the point? So you can stick on a pole and have it come off, like, immediately? Is this normal for flags? When I was shopping for a pirate flag on amazon for my kid's birthday they all had grommets, and that flag is WAY cheaper-feeling than this one.
Again, this isn't something where I expect it to be awesome or anything, but it's pretty confusing to send something out to all the STMs and then have it be kinda useless. I'm probably going to either put grommets in myself or just cut the top open, but I'm seriously confused about what the goal was here.
