Here's something I've been wondering about for a while, and maybe someone here can shed some light. I always use the boxscore at GoStanford.com when I'm writing my recaps, and they have an issue with numerals appearing as letters when they list the jersey numbers. Here are some samples from today's boxscore:
2J Bryce Love
1J Keller Chryst
0I Dalton Schultz
0E Connor Wedington
In other places around the internet I've seen that numbers sometimes transpose into hexadecimal, so I thought maybe that was going on, but after consulting my decoder ring I realized that J is the tenth letter of the alphabet, or zero, and I is the ninth, or nine. Code cracked. But the site has no problem with other numbers:
73 Jesse Burkett
97 Dylan Jackson
3 Malik Antoine
So beyond the first obvious and unanswerable question -- why don't they notice and fix it -- can anyone (with coding knowledge, maybe) speculate as to why this might be happening?

Please clear the field! The game is not over!
