Not even a contest really.
At Kezar, Stanford gets a lot of credit for trying to include more of the Bay Area into the football experience.
At Kezar, the small crowd looks larger because the place doesn\'t hold as many fans.
At Kezar, poor attendance can be explained away because the game is NOT at Stanford.
At Kezar, the players get a bit more of a game day type experience out of the whole deal. While the event on campus probably feels more like just another practice.
And finally, at Kezar the team gets more local media coverage.
One problem is that at some point the Kezar thing will get old, and the move back to campus will seem like a retreat.
If Stanford had some rich tradition of having the student body attend the scrimmage my view might change, but for the games I have seen the crowd was always full of small kids seeking hot dogs, ice cream, player autographs and time on the field. There are kids in SF that enjoy those things too.
