In-game management, which to a large extent reflects pre-game preparation, continues to be a puzzler in the Shaw era.
1. Why, why, why do we have the inevitable delay of game penalties -- after a big play, after a takeaway, jeez I swear we had one last year after a timeout? Why are we caught with our pants down so often in those situations?
2. Why are we seemingly always searching the sideline for a defensive set while the opposing offense is already in their snap count off a no-huddle? Don't we have anyone on the field who can make the basic calls?
3. We lost 7-8 seconds last night snoozing before calling a timeout. Doesn't Shaw have anyone on the sidelines or in his earpiece to remind him if the clock is still running? If it's apparent to us dumb fans in the stands that we need the timeout why isn't it apparent to the smart coaches on the sidelines?
Stuff like this could cost us a game some day IMHO.
