I read his aricle differently , Qwerty. I don't think he's lauding the critics as "experts."

As for many on the forums knowing as much (and in many cases more) about Stanford football as Fitzgerald, I think  that's a given.

I love the passion Fitzgerald is demonstrating in the fan base.  It's admittedly a little cheesy to quote Rivals board posts - and even cheesier to call it a chat room - but it's great to have people care about Stanford so much.  It's also great to have made casual observers who aren't on the message boards, aware of this passion.

Of course, Fitzgerald should have quoted the Cardboard, if he was going to quote a message board...
