Among Leach's comments are some things that are true, some that are technically true, some that are fine to be his own opinions ... and all apparently aimed at needling Stanford for some reason.
"Weve got a lot of great running backs in this conference,
- well, yeah.
There's talent, sure. There's Bryce Love at the very tippy-top. The next Pac-12 RB who shows up in the NCAA's most yards per carry stat is Ron Jones of U$C at #16 with a 6.73 ypc, then Myles Gaskin at #30. Both are about 60% and 55% of Love's ypc. I'd say we have a lot of good running backs, not great.

You've got a pretty good point there.
Love is excellent. Tate is an excellent runner but not a RB.
Nobody else is putting up eye-popping numbers.
Still, I personally think Freeman, Jones, Gaskin, and Nall are all at least very good.Â

Perspective here is key. Leach needs to recruit players from warm urban and suburban locations to join a small rural regional school to play football in a very small stadium often late at night in cold and windy conditions. I suspect Leach could tell story after story about a recruit that was good to sign in October, but after a January visit to Pullman opted for FCS warm weather U.
It would seem to me that WSU is in the toughest inherent position in the conference with respect to recruiting, with OSU at #2.
I can imagine Leach getting irked at other conference coaches complaining about how tough it is to recruit at their schools.
