His first three starts weren't bad either, particularly considering they were his first three college appearances.
On the season he has a 1.34 ERA, and a 0.192 batting average.
That's top ERA on the team for anyone who has started and second to Bubic in batteing average - though of course he has on average faced lesser competition in the midweek games (he did face Rice, Michigan and Texas early on).Â
Any chance he'll earn a weekend starting job?
Now I see there is a whole thread on this.
I haven't managed to see enough of them to have my own opinion on the matter, but it's nice to know there is another option for Sundays if necessary.
Would also be nice to have Wulff and Kinamon playing again.
I see Wulff came back to start game one vs Oregon but then didn't play again. A setback?

Wulff did not play vs Oregon, still several weeks away. Duke could play soonÂ
Edit. Sorry that Oregon game was his last game. Injured then

When Kinamon returns:
1. Tawa
2. Handley
3. Hoerner
4. Daschbach
5. Stowers
6. as match ups dictate, Molfetta/Carter/Robinson/Matthiesen/Breuser
7. Kinamon
8. Branton
9. Kuet (Esquer likes having a #9 who can get on base)
Esquer has gotten good production recently from his rotating batting order. No big bombs but they've been very good at getting on base.Â
Can anyone get a reliable update on Wulff? I figured broken foot and no way he returns before the regionals, if then.Â

Yeah, I got confused how long ago that injury was - think in my head I was swapping the time of the Oregon/UCLA series.

So, you're predicting it's Brueser who'll lose his regular fielding job? Makes sense.
Who plays first base?
I was under the impression that Esquer liked having Kuet's glove at third, though he suddenly started making errors his last few games.
Kuet's OBP is 0.289 overall, which is lowest of those who start often, but has gone up to 0.355 in conference play which is about middle of the regular starters.
