There's a photo of our man with the headset, but what's interesting is that the writer notes that most of the coaches who have won the BCS in the last 15 years are those who have not been at their schools very long. In fact, the average is 3.1 years. This could be because other coaches have not learned those coaches' schemes, but it could also be because coaches in general don't stay at schools for very long. I've wondered whether the former might be true in the case of the UC system's highest paid employee. He was hot in his first few years, but I seem to have heard quite a bit of grousing on the other side of the bay for the last three years.

The article was written back in March, before Stewart was ousted at West Va. I believe that the writer was referring to the awkward set-up which would have had Stewart coaching the team in 2011 before passing the reins to his pre-ordained successor.
