This makes me so happy. I guess Mike White got tired of flaming out in the WCWS. :) This is also significant as we build our program, as I do not see Oregon maintaining at least the top-8 level they have been at recently without him. I expect them to come back to the pack, instead of maintaining their spot among the Washingtons and UCLAs of the conference.

"Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens and White agreed to a six-year contract worth $1.425 million in guaranteed salary (an average of $237,500 per year) in June of 2015 after the coach interviewed with Arkansas and as ground was being broken on the $17.2 million Jane Sanders Stadium project.
According to White, who also earned $90,000 in performance bonuses last season, Oregon wasn’t interested in redoing the deal again.
“They felt like I was being compensated fairly,” White said. “Obviously that wasn’t enough. They didn’t step up to the plate, so to speak. I don’t blame them. That could be resources-based.”

Hmm. Does Oregon make a run at Lonni Alameda?

In T&F Oregon just lost their distance coaches, husband and wife, both Stanford grads. They will be the new Head Coach and Head assistant at Washington.

In addition to FSU, Lonni Alameda also has an association with a National Fastpitch team in Florida. I offer this with the disclaimer that I love the hire of Coach Allister, but Coach Alameda would have been my ideal #1 choice. However, I didn't think it was realistic for us, and I don't think it is realistic for Oregon.
Oregon just lost a football coach in Taggart to FSU. I don't think FSU is going to get out-bid for Alameda.

Another forum is citing Rachel Lawson from Kentucky as a possiblity. She has done a great job with that program. Oregon AD apparently has Kentucky ties.

This incoming recruiting class for Coach Allister is absolutely fantastic. Hoping this is the year we finally get back in postseason contention, after the five-year absence. I think this class, coupled with our junior class and Maddy, is talented enough to do it.

The Final Flosoftball Rankings for the class of 2018 has Molly at 99, Kate at 95 and Emily Klingaman at 38. I got to see Kate, Emily Schultz, Molly and Emily Klingaman play this week and in Colorado and they look great. Klingaman was 2-3 against the Birmingham Bolts and 3-5 against the So Cal Choppers (Texas 2018 signee pitcher) . The 2019 Stanford commit Sophia Medellin from So Cal Choppers is a stud also. Exciting times coming.
