of football hitting the ground. Came in for the last series of a 38-13 drubbing of Tennessee by in-state rival Vanderbilt (still coached by Derek Mason). Attempted 4 passes, completed 0 (one first down by penalty). Unfortunate that his transfer year did not work out well.

Well, I'm glad that the first thought I had when I saw your post subject wasn't the case -- I was afraid he was seriously hurt.

Did Chryst graduate Stanford, or is he close to finish up on his own dime?

What a disappointment for Keller. He was touted as the next big Stanford QB after an excellent high-school career right across the street from the campus. He was a football blue-blood, with a father coaching in the NFL and an uncle as head coach of Wisconsin. But it never quite came together; and his ACL-injury in the 2016 Sun Bowl certainly did not help. I suspect he will also go into coaching like his father and uncle.

I remember some people speculating at the time that his excellence in high school was partly because he had gotten so much coaching already that he was far ahead of other h.s. quarterbacks, but didn't have the physical tools to get much better.

Of the Stanford QBs who started seasons since 2009:
1. Luck
2. Costello
3. Hogan
4. Nunes
5. Chryst
6. Burns
Costello is the next Stanford hope to be a starting QB in the NFL.
I projected Mills to be in between Luck and Costello. Don't have much of an idea on West, so that means I doubt he's going to be any better than Nunes. Tanner McKee seems to have higher upside and Jay Butterfield likely to be the 2020 class QB?

Just to pick a nit, Chryst graduated from Stanford, or if you prefer the older usage, Stanford graduated Chryst. Chryst did not, however, graduate Stanford.
Technically, you could say that following Hogan, "Chryst graduated Stanford...'s offensive performance" - for the worse. But that's probably not what was meant. ;)

What is your list based on? Potential or accomplishement?
Both on a career basis and single season (Hogan in 2015 vs. Costello in 2018) Hogan would probably be ahead. But Costello still has up to two more seasons at Stanford and may well surpass Hogan’s accomplishments, so from a potential perspective, you may well be right.

Individual talent perspective, irrespective of supporting cast.

Shaw did make the comment a couple of weeks ago that he was recovering faster than they expected. I took that as he might be ready to play at some time this season.
I'm just hoping he will be ready by spring ball and doesn't immediately get injured again.
