Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott filled in a bit of the mystery surrounding the Almost-16 Conference,  known to the survivors as the Pac-12.  Turns out it was all about the Benjamins for UT and the Longhorn Network.  At least, that's Scott's story and he's sticking to it.

It's true.  Money was the motivation behind the Longhorn network, and it was the recruiting advantages alluded to in my other posts that have riled up OU and A&M to the point where they're making noise about jumping to the SEC.  Of course, this just means that the SEC gets to dictate terms if OU/A&M ever get serious about leaving.
