Her positive feelings about the Network seem to stand in stark contrast to most cardboarders, though I'm certain I've followed our various sports teams much more closely now that I can reliably watch them on TV.That's the difference between the Stanford AD and the other Pac-12 schools.

Do you mean Olympic sports such as rowing, water polo, swimming & diving, wrestling, sailing, squash, field hockey, cross country, fencing, ...? (Not to mention Winter Olympic sports!)
How often do you see those on PAC-12?
I will grant that PAC-12 does cover some of those up to a handful of times a year, which is better than before. But it doesn't establish a fan base or let someone in the East follow a friend or family member at Stanford.
But, I believe the use of "Olympic sports" is misleading in that sentence. I wish it were the case that more sports would be shown, but it will require vastly cheaper production costs.

I can't read the article. Did Tara mention the relationship between PAC-12 coverage and fewer fans at the games?

Tara didn't say anything about fewer fans linked to PAC-12 coverage. The thing she emphasized is the effect of the PAC-12 on recruiting, saying that it had had a major impact in keeping west coast kids in the west and making players in the rest of the country more willing to come west.
It's an interesting article, which I was able to read because I have a NY Times digital subscription. I wonder if there's any way that the FBC can get it up? Alternatively, it may appear tomorrow on the website http://hoopism.blogspot.com. [Sorry, wish I knew how to post a link into here] If you're not familiar with it, that's a women's BB site called "They're Playing Basketball." Really good, posts a great many newspaper articles from around the country, lots and lots about the PAC-12
