The takeaway for me is that there are VERY few leagues with any quality depth, other than the Pac12 and on a lower level the B1G. Big XII? Baylor, and then a long drop off to Texas. SEC? South Carolina, then Mississippi State and TAMU, but then a stretch to Kentucky and Arkansas.
Right now, the NCAA women's RPI, as flawed as it is, has a top ten consisting of
1 team each from the SEC, Big Ten, WCC, MWC (and boy, has Missouri State gamed the RPI well), ACC, Big 12, and AAC
And three from the Pac-12.
Big Ten has #11 in Iowa before Oregon State as #12.

We are all going to give each other enough losses to prevent the 1st and 2nd seeds from being packed with Pac 12 teams, but that is probably where 4 (or maybe 5 or 6) of our teams belong relative the the rest of the country. Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, Oregon State, Arizona State, Arizona--whew.

Agree that our conference will get hosed because of the extra inevitable losses but looking at the top 6, it's easy to make a case that there are two #1 seeds (if we're healthy), two #2 seeds and two #3 seeds. I certainly thought so when we played them, and I maintain they will be a tough out for anyone.

I'd love for us to have the spotlight of bumping Geno's overrated TeamESPN to the sidelines this year, but if ASU or Zona can do it in the 2nd round, so much the better.

I dunno. I think this may be a "careful what you wish for" situation. Based on watching their game with the Ducks, I think UConn would beat us in postseason. In addition, while there have certainly been some cracks in the wall in the past couple of years, Geno's teams often get the job done in postseason even against teams that have beaten them during the season...
